Professor Entsua-Mensah holds a B.Sc in (Zoology), Diploma in Education, M.Sc. (Aquatic Biology) from the University of Cape Coast (1986) and a Ph.D. in Fisheries Science from the University of Ghana (1998). She also holds a Certificate in Aquatic Resource Management from the University of Hull, UK, as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from GIMPA (2007). She also has a Certificate in Leadership and Management from International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland (2009). She was the Deputy-Director General of the CSIR from 2008-2018. She was in charge of coordinating Research and Development in the 13 Institutes of the CSIR. She was also in charge of the Research Extension Farmer Linkage Program at the CSIR. and Quality Assurance in the academic performance of the Research Scientists. She retired from the CSIR in September 2019 and is currently the Director of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the CSIR College of Science and Technology. She has consulted for the FAO (1999-2006) and the World Bank (2004-2006), She was a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) in 2005 and a Part time Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast (2006-2009). She has served on several local and International Boards. She was the Chair of the University of Ghana College of Basic and Applied Sciences Advisory Board (2019-2022) She is a member of the Executive Committee of International Human Rights Network of Academies and Scholarly Societies. She is a Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences.
