Prof Mary Obodai

  • Prof Mary Obodai holds a Ph.D in Food Sciences (Food Microbiology), from the University of Nottingham, UK, (2016). She holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from GIMPA (2016). She is the immediate past Director of the CSIR- Food Research Institute and a Professor at the CSIR College of Science and Technology.
  • She is involved in spearheading mushroom research and its cultivation in Ghana and has done extensive research nationally and internationally in the area of mushroom biotechnology. Her other area of interest is molecular characterization of African fermented
  • As a 2010, African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) fellow, mentor and later the science mentoring co-ordinator in CSIR (2015-2017) she has mentored several young female scientists. Alongside others she helped put the Gender Policy in CSIR in place.
